Annual assessments

At the end of each year, each Ph. D. student submits to the Board of Professors a written report (either in Italian or in English) on his/her research project. The reports are also forwarded to the Scientific Council.
In addition, the students show the results of their projects and future developments in an oral presentation within a dedicated one or two-day mini-symposium attended by the Board of Professors, by the Scientific Council of the School and by faculty members, invited experts and students.

The Board of Professors performs a yearly assessment of the scientific achievements of each student, based on the above-mentioned report and presentation, as well as on publications, participation to Schools, Workshops and to national or international Symposia, research stages in other Italian or foreign scientific Institutions.
For each Ph D student the Board of Professors also performs a yearly assessment of the didactic accomplishments (courses taken, seminars attended) that must be duly registered on a copybook provided by the School.

Approval of the scientific and didactic activities of each student by the Board of Professors is required for granting admission to the subsequent year of the School.
